Day 11
Peterborough to Victor Harbor
| Leaving Peterborough |
Stopped near Burra to photograph the Ken Duncan cottage
| Old cottage made famous by Ken Duncan and found on the cover of the Midnight Oil album. |
| Peterborough to Victor Harbor, via Burra, Eudunda and Kapunda |
Stopped again for thistles and hills...
| Distant Flinders Ranges |
A quick pitstop where we met a Farmer in Robertstown
Eudunda bakery "best ever sausage roll", and Jed Dunstan cartoon artist. |
| Having a cuppa at the Eudunda bakery and enjoying the local art of cartoonist Jed Dunstan. |
| Hmm, who'd a thought? |
| Classic pub at Eudunda. A much healthier town than we've seen further West. |
Turns out the local silos are painted too! |
| Butterfly spotted on the Melaleuca while walking to the silo viewing area |
| An impressive pair of paintings on these silos. |
Looks like the old station is getting a make over as well - big job! Flock of pigeons roosting in the silos. |
A brief stop over in Kapunda to catch up with cousins over a cuppa at short notice.
| Long country roads |
Since we were traveling through the Barossa Valley, we chose a small family winery on spec, and did a cellar door tasting and it ended up that we really liked it and bought a mixed dozen plus 2 litres of Muscat (best drunk frozen and doesn't go off). We ate our late lunch sandwich there in the gardens and then drove on to Victor Harbor the back way.
| Kies winery |
| Cellar door tasting |
Staying in a beach side cabin at Victor Harbor, an NRMA van park. A lovely vibe, clean and convenient to town via a short walk.
