Day 5 Tuesday, 15th February Neptune Is, SA Neptune Is North Bottom cage on left, surface cage on right Woke up early on the boat, saw the hint of a coloured sunrise and we were moored off an island. After breakfast the boat shifted to another island for us to swim with the sea lions. We snorkelled this time , glad we did as the sea lions didn’t come in very deep. Also getting into the tender boat with scuba looked very difficult . The tender took everyone on near shore and we made lots of splashing and noise to attract the sea lions in to play which eventually they did! Back to the boat which was moved to a quiet spot for lunch before moving further south for the cage diving at Action Bay. The surface cage looked very uncomfortable as the sea wash was banging the cage against the boat. View of the surface cage from below We went down to the bottom in the other cage, about 25m. Just took a GoPro each no light on camera but there was plenty of natural light. But of cour...

View of the heavy works from Hummock Hill We also made a side track to the top of hummock hill which had a great view of the steelworks and the gulf. A very long coal train went by while we were there. View of the harbour from Hummock Hill Roy had the binoculars out and spotted a dorsal fin or two in the bay. Not long after we we saw paddle boarders in the same location! Finally headed South, next stop Cowell where we saw a painted silo which looked ordinary from a distance but was impressive close up, camel, bird and local identity. We stopped at a boat ramp going into Cowell for our morning cuppa and had a chat with a fella who was hunting beach worms and thought that we might know where to find them! Silos at Cowell After a good wander around the silos we headed on until we spotted a sign indicating that one of the at...

February 3rd 2022 Nearly organised to head off on our next adventure, Covid allowing. Madly assembling underwater camera gear and arranging pet sitting so we can relax into the journey. Rodney Fox Shark Expeditions - We Know Sharks... Not quite sure what to expect but sure that it will be a big adventure. More to come as we get closer to departure. Currently Port August that we have to travel through has been inundated with flood waters, so we are hoping that those will subside before we arrive.
