Day 8

18th February

Pt Lincoln to Streaky Bay SA

Streaky Bay jetty. Every coastal town in SA has at least one jetty!

A luxurious night back at marina hotel. Great to spread everything out and re-sort the bags after the dive trip. Unfortunately Port Lincoln seems to have developed a bit of a roll and is not very steady :) In fact the whole of Eyre peninsula had a good roll on for a few days!

Where is the Eyre peninsula? Blue dot is us.

We took advantage of the laundry facility to do some washing and drying.

Repacked the car with dive gear pushed to the back again.
Off to Coffin Bay for morning tea, hot chocs and muffins- health food! Coffin Bay is best known for oysters, but neither of us fancy those - we will leave them for others to enjoy!

Obligatory selfie at Cummings look out

A sad tale of loss at sea

Looking for a lunch spot on the way to streaky bay we found Cummings lookout, a rough track off the road and found real treasure at the end. An amazing view down the coastline. Spent quite a time taking photos as we were so awestruck.

Amazing coastline, Cummings look out, Eyre peninsula.

Very challenging growth conditions for the vegetation on the cliffs.

Checked in to Rosie’s retreat air bnb at streaky bay. Home for 2 nights. A very comfortable little home with a friendly cat and pet wallaroo.

Rosie's retreat, very comfortable

A lovely view over the bay from the pub.

Took a drive and walk down on the waterfront and enjoyed fish and chips at the pub looking out to sea .

Low tide on the jetty

Not sure of the significance of these colourful totems on the shoreline,
but the seagulls love them!
